Benazir Bhutto's Biography

Benazir Bhutto was a groundbreaking Pakistani politician and stateswoman who made history as the first woman to lead a Muslim-majority country, serving as Prime Minister of Pakistan in two non-consecutive terms (1988-1990 and 1993-1996). Born on June 21, 1953, in Karachi, her political journey began after the execution of her father, former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Educated at Harvard and Oxford, Benazir was known for her intelligence, charisma, and resilience. As Chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), she championed modernity, democracy, and women’s rights in a challenging and often hostile environment.
